The old saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ is very relevant to Esoteric Yoga, as what lays beneath the surface, inside the simple book cover, is very rich indeed. I liken it to this because the simplicity of the Esoteric Yoga format does not allude to the depth & power of what can be felt in the body in a 1hr session, that is in the most part laying down, being still and creating the space to feel the body.
In fact it is almost too difficult to fathom how something so simple could be so amazing in what it offers the body and the being and how one feels!
Often our lives can be busy and it can be easy to find excuses why not to exercise - no time being a common one. Even if we are not so busy, we can often still find excuses to not exercise. It is interesting to note that when we feel something is important in our life, we do make time for it. So if you find that you use “no time” as an excuse for not exercising, or any other excuse for that matter, perhaps you might consider, is it really a time issue - or are you not appreciating and valuing yourself enough to commit to exercise? What if exercise could be integrated into your everyday routine in a very simple way?
I have no doubt that about seven years ago, if I had kept going at the pace I was, for sure I was heading towards serious ill-health. I was a workaholic, always kept myself busy and caught up in the motion of life, looking after others first, and seeking recognition and acceptance through my very physically demanding work as an acrobatic performer. You could say I was a superwoman! I even have a performance photo of me balancing on one hand dressed in a wonder woman costume… kind of says it all really!
